We’ve got your hams – you just need to cook them. Check out Donna Hay’s Cheat’s Glaze (the other Donna H’s fave), or use any of these ingredient combos and follow these 3 easy steps to make the best ham glazes this Christmas.
1. Put the ingredients in a pan over a low heat, bring to the boil and reduce to simmer for 3 mins – watch carefully and stir until glossy and/or spreadable
2. Preheat oven to 170C. Cut away the skin from the ham, leaving an even layer of fat. Lightly score the fat in a criss cross pattern, and you can stud the diamonds with cloves if you like.
3. Brush/pour half the glaze on the ham, and bake for 15 mins. Remove from oven use the remaining glaze and bake for 25-35 mins. Check every now and then, rotating the pan and basting the ham with the pan juices. Remove from oven and rest for 15 mins before carving.
